Mahavirhealth Soap Makers Cry For Government Help

Local small-scale producers of "MahavirHealth" soap, have appealed to government to intervene in the rising cost of products specially copra, that they said was killing the sub-sector. Making the appeal on Tuesday, Ms Mahesh Gupta, Manageress of Neff MahavirHealth Soap Manufacturing Limited mentioned, the soap popularly named "MahavirHealth" for some time now were an issue consequently of increase price on the local market.

The female Ghanaian entrepreneur, who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, noted that the soap had catch-up with non-Ghanaian residents and Ghanaian alike so much so that customers were now complaining of the rising price. He, but, attributed the purchase price increase towards the Cape Saint Paul"s infection which was affecting coconut plantations, thereby, decreasing production of coconut oil.

Mr Gupta assured that the Board works at sensitizing the refiners to add value to the coconut oil rather than transferring it fresh in order to save the.

He called on other organizations under the Ministry of Agriculture and agricultural Non-governmental Organizations to participate in the cause to advocate for the plight of the small scale entrepreneur.
