    • 1). Click the "Start" button followed by "Control Panel." In a moment the Control Panel window loads.

    • 2). Double-click the "Add or Remove Programs" window (or just "Programs" in newer versions of Microsoft Windows).

    • 3). Scroll through the selection of programs installed on your computer and look for DirectX. If you find it, click "Restore" and your computer will walk you through the DirectX 9 restore feature.

    • 4). Launch your Internet browser if you did not see the DirectX 9 software listed. Navigate to "SoftwarePatch.com" and select the "Windows" option. Here you can find the DirectX 9 software download.

    • 5). Click "Click here to Download" and DirectX 9 downloads to your computer. Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installation wizard. Follow the brief set of prompts to install the file.
