How to Set a Toilet With a Flange That Is Too High

1). Remove the old wax seal from the toilet flange, using the putty knife. Place the wax seal on old newspaper and discard.
2). Place the new wax seal onto the top of the toilet flange.
3). Position the toilet floor plate over the toilet flange so the center of the flange rests over the hole in the floor plate. The two bolts that extend up from the toilet flange must extend through the two holes molded into the top of the toilet floor plate.
4). Secure the toilet floor plate to the floor with the supplied screws and a screwdriver. Place the new wax ring onto the top of the toilet floor plate so it centers over the hole in the plate.
5). Place the toilet onto the toilet floor plate so the bolts extending up through the plate go though the holes in the base of the toilet. Secure the toilet by threading the nuts onto the bolts. Tighten the nuts with a wrench.
