    Hofstra University School of Law

    • Hofstra Law School is best known for its faculty's expertise in litigation, international law and family law. Its clinical program is noteworthy, offering clinics in law reform advocacy, asylum, community and economic development, mediation and securities arbitration, criminal justice, and child advocacy. It also offers a civil, judicial and criminal externship program and a variety of student organizations and journals. Its library has 534,000 volumes.

    Touro College Law Center

    • The Touro College Law Center is next to federal and state courthouses and incorporates work in those courts into its curriculum. It offers full- and part-time studies, with day and evening classes. Founded in 1980, Touro's law program has 5,000 alumni, 40 full-time faculty members and a library with 420,000 volumes. It also hosts a Public Advocacy Center, where students provide pro-bono services to nonprofit organizations.

    Brooklyn Law School

    • According to the 2008 Leiter Report, Brooklyn Law School comes in fifth in New York state among law schools with the highest number of graduates working in the country's top 15 elite law firms. It has a well-known and varied clinical program (in which 75 percent of its students participate), international fellowships and externships, and four student-edited law journals.
