- 1). Find a cardboard box that is long enough and wide enough for the cat litter box. The height of the cat litter box can be made by cutting the cardboard at the designated height with a box cutter.
- 2). Take the cardboard box that you have cut down to the right height and place a plastic cat litter bag over the entire box. This will protect the cat box from any cat urine and make it last longer. When the box needs to be changed, simply pull the bag off of the cardboard box and dispose of in the garbage and replace with a new bag liner.
- 3). Place a grit paper liner in the bottom of the box after the litter bag liner is in place. This will give added protection to the cardboard cat litter box. Make sure the grit paper fits the box from side to side and end to end.
- 4). Add the scoopable cat litter to the cardboard box cat litter pan. This should be a least two to three inches deep. Use the scoop to level out the cat litter
- 5). Use the scoop to keep the litter box free from standing feces and urine. This adds life to the cardboard cat litter box.
