In this article we will be looking at the problem that affects many Xbox 360 gamers and that is the problem of the screen freezing up while you are playing your games.
Normally when this happens you will not get any error message and suddenly the Xbox will not respond and the sound will go off and you are left with just a frozen picture! So what causes the Xbox 360 to freeze up? Well, the reason that this happens is like most problems with the console it is overheating.
Although it has not yet got to a stage where the chips have actually burnt out, when this happens it will give you one of the red light errors.
For now it is freezing up to prevent damage to the chips because they're getting to hot.
So what can you do? For the first thing you should do is get the power brick and keep it up off the floor so it is well ventilated on all sides.
Also try keeping your console near an open window and in the place that does not get too hot.
Even if you do this there are no guarantees and what you may want to do is invest in a fan that attaches to the back of the Xbox and draws heat out of the Xbox.
If you keep on getting these sorts of errors then you will eventually need it fixed and to do this a good idea is to ring Microsoft customer support and ask their advice, normally they will send you a box to put your console in and then they will collect it the and start doing the repair work which takes about six weeks.
I hope this article has explained why your Xbox freezes up and that you get the problem fixed soon!
