St. Claret began the great work of starting a Congregation "The Claretians" on July 16th 1849. Since then, the Claretians have been rendering various services specially the educational service. The Educational ministry began in Tamilnadu at Karumathur area since 1982 onwards. The School is in the 29th year of its existence. It has 60 Teaching Staff, 10 Supportive Staff and 2226 Students. Besides this, we also have an English medium Nursery-Primary school with 22 Staff and 500 Students; and a Tamil medium Primary school with 24 Staff and 495 Students functioning as separate schools in Karumathur.

St. Claret's Hr. Sec. School, Karumathur organized the Inauguration of New English Medium Block, Bible Club and New Academic Year on 1st June 2012. Fr. Maria David, the Provincial Econome opened and Fr. Vincent Anesthasiar, the Provincial Superior blessed the new building. Frs. Mariadoss, Robin and Bhyju were present. Claret Bhavan and Claret Arulagam fathers were present. We finished our inauguration with culturals.

Stds X and XII results brought laurels to our school. Many students scored high marks. Thanks to the hard work of Fr. Soosai Manickam, fathers and all the staff. Our sincere appreciations to the students for their effort and cooperation. Stu. Prasath of Std XII scored the Second rank in Agriculture subject in the State level and brought high appreciations and honour to our school.

 Triune Celebration:
St. Claret's Hr. Sec. School had Triune Celebration ably on 26th June 2012. The Holy Spirit Mass, Birthday of Fr. A.L. Raj, welcoming new staff and new students from Stds VI – IX and XI std were celebrated. Holy Spirit Mass was celebrated by Fr. A.L. Raj and Fr. Victor preached and in that he said, first we should do things to others which we want others to do for us, through Jesse Ovens life's incident. Our school Treasurer Fr. A.L. Raj's Birthday was the second celebration. Fr. Soosai Manickam said that, his driftness and commitment to work has brought him to this high level. Fr. A.L. Raj said that, he has learned it from his father and personal life incidents. Third function was the warm welcome to the new staff and new students from StdsVI – IX and XI. We finished this programme with cultural events by our students.
