    • 1). Open the "Start" menu, type "cmd.exe" and press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Enter" at the same time to run the command prompt as an administrator.

    • 2). Type "SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1" without quotation marks and press "Enter." This configures the Device Manager to show disconnected devices.

    • 3). Open the "Start" menu again, type "devmgmt.msc" and press "Enter" to open the Device Manager.

    • 4). Click "Show hidden devices" from the View menu of the Device Manager.

    • 5). Right-click the name of each printer you no longer use from its location on the Device Manager. Click "Uninstall."

    • 6). Click "Yes" when asked to confirm removing the device.
