- 1). Add your phone number to the National Do-Not-Call Registry. Do this online by visiting the website for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Follow the instructions for adding a phone number. You can also add your phone number via telephone, by calling 888-382-1222.
- 2). Find out if your state provides a Do-Not-Call List for state residents. Contact your state's Consumer Protection Office to obtain information. If possible, add your phone number to your state's Do-Not-Call List, according to its instructions.
- 3). Tell each individual telemarketer to add your phone number to the company Do-Not-Call List. Your phone number remains on the company Do-Not-Call List for five years.
