No one is hotter in pop music at the moment than Lorde.  This week's best new pop songs are led by a stellar cover version of her hit song "Royals."


1. Pentatonix - "Royals"


The five member a capella singing group Pentatonix won the third season of NBC's a capella competition show The Sing Off.  Their debut EP PTX, Volume 1 was released in the summer of 2012 and peaked at #14 on the album chart.  In March this year the group released a successful cover of Imagine Dragons' hit "Radioactive" with violinist Lindsey Stirling.

2. Jake Miller - "Collide"


Rapper Jake Miller first gained attention through posting videos of his performances on YouTube.  This past spring his single "A Million Lives" broke into mainstream pop radio.  Jake Miller's debut album Us Against Them is set for release November 4, 2013.

3. Lady Antebellum - "Compass"


Lady Antebellum's latest studio album Golden is their third consecutive release to reach #1 on the overall album chart.  "Compass" is a single from the upcoming deluxe re-issue of Golden. The song was co-written with R&B producers Stargate.  The song's arrangement includes banjo and fiddle with inspiration from bluegrass.

4. Mikky Ekko - "Kids"


Singer-songwriter Mikky Ekko made his first pop chart appearance as featured singer on Rihanna's hit single "Stay."  "Kids" is his fourth single.  There is no specific word yet on when Mikky Ekko's debut album will be released.

5. Avenue Of the Giants - "So You'd Like To Think"


Avenue Of the Giants are an Atlanta based rock band. Two of the group members have recorded with rapper Ludacris.  Avenue Of the Giant's lead guitarist has toured extensively with the band REHAB.

6. Wisin - "Que Viva La Vida"


Wisin is one half of the reggaeton duo Wisin and Yandel.  The pair are not splitting up, but they both have decided to release solo albums.  Wisin and Yandel are judges on this fall's third season of Mexico's version of the hit show The Voice. Together the pair have five consecutive #1 Latin albums in the US.

7. Ledisi - "I Blame You"


Jazz influenced vocalist Ledisi has earned eight Grammy Award nominations including for Best New Artist in 2008.  Her most recent album Pieces Of Me was a top 10 hit. Ledisi performed as part of VH1's annual Divas concert last December.

8. Rick Ross - "No Games" featuring Future


Rapper Rick Ross has been celebrated as founder of the Maybach Music Group.  Four of his five solo studio albums have been #1 hits.  "No Games" is the first release from his upcoming Mastermind collection. Rick Ross' biggest pop hit is 2008's #17 peaking "The Boss."

9. Devin the Dude - "Probably Should Have"


Devin the Dude is a Houston based rapper.  He was a member of the rap collective known as the Odd Squad.  Devin the Dude released a series of four consecutive albums that reached the top 10 on the R&B albums chart.  "Probably Should Have" is a single from the upcoming One For the Road collection.  It is being released through Entertainment One.

10. Sean Garrett - "Anytime" featuring Migos


Sean Garrett is one of the most successful of current R&B and hip hop oriented producers.  His first major success as a producer came working with Ciara.  He has also worked extensively with Beyonce.  As an artist Sean Garrett has released the solo album Turbo 919 and the mixtape The Inkwell.
