    Inside the Home

    • 1). Vacuum the screen from the inside with a brush attachment. Make sure the suction is not so strong that it pulls the screen from its frame. If you do not have a suitable attachment for your vacuum, then use a duster or microfiber cloth to remove dust from the screen.

    • 2). Pour 1 tsp. of dishwashing liquid into a quart-size spray bottle and fill the remainder of the bottle with hot water.

    • 3). Place a towel on the window ledge to prevent damage from spray and splatters.

    • 4). Spray the screen with the cleaning solution and wipe the screen with a soft cloth to remove dirt and grime.

    • 5). Fill a bucket with warm water and rinse the screen with a soft cloth saturated with the water. Rinse the screen several times to ensure you've removed all the soap from the screen.

    Outside the Home

    • 2). Place 1 tsp. of dishwashing liquid in a quart-size spray bottle and fill the remainder of the bottle with hot water.

    • 3). Spray the screen with the cleaning solution and wipe the screen with a soft cloth to remove dirt and grime.

    • 4). Rinse the screen with a water hose until you've removed all the soap from the screen.
