- 1). Screw one end of the snap swivel into the front section of the keel on the bottom of the decoy. The keel is a rudderlike piece that resembles an ice-skating blade. It is used to balance the decoy as it floats in the water.
- 2). Tie one end of the nylon cord to the looped end of the snap swivel and knot it.
- 3). Tie the other end of the nylon cord to the J-anchor.
- 4). Place the decoy on the body of water that will be hunted and allow the cord and anchor to fall and slip to the bottom. Pull the cord, anchor and decoy out of the water when finished.
