How to Make Animations of Buildings
- 1). Visit the Adobe Flash CS5 website (see Resources), and purchase the animation software. Adobe Flash was originally made by a company named Macromedia, until Adobe bought the company. One of the things that Flash CS5 will help you do as you animate buildings is to add advanced features using action script coding. CS5 has plenty of coding integration, so people with a good knowledge of action script coding can use their skills to create special effects within their animations that only action script coding can deliver.
- 2). Download the Pencil animation software. (See Resources.) Pencil is open source (free) software that you can use for as long as you want. When you are drawing sketching of the buildings themselves, this software will help you feel right at home as an artist. It is a great program for just plain, old-fashioned drawing. As you draw the building, changing the drawing frame by frame; the software's basic tools won't overwhelm you with a lot of bells and whistles. You'll be able to do what you need to do without having too learn all about advanced features you may never even use.
- 3). Visit the Toon Boom website (see Resources), and purchase the animation software. Toon Boom will help you show your animated buildings from all different angles, using its virtual camera system. You'll be able to place virtual cameras in the timeline and add different viewing angles as you draw the buildings to make them more lifelike to your viewers.
