A Catalog of World War II Cartoons by Dr. Seuss Before his series of successful children's books as Dr. Seuss brought him prominence, Theodor Geisel had been a lifelong cartoonist. During the World War II years, 1941-43, he drew editorial cartoons for "PM," a New York City newspaper. In fact, he published more than 400 panels based on the current events of the day.
