Around midnight, Chasen left the premiere to supposedly drive home to her house in Westwood. At around 12:28 am, Chasen was driving past Beverly Hills Hotel when multiple shots were fired into her Mercedes-Benz. Chasen crashed her car into a light pole as a resident ran out to help her. Police arrived at the scene to find Chasen badly wounded by the gunshots. She was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment but was later pronounced dead.[15]
