How to Change the DPI of Pictures
- 1). Open your image editing software and load the file you wish to edit.
- 2). Click "Image editor" from the "Image" menu. The DPI dialogue is the "Resolution" and is measured not in DPI, but pixels / inch.
- 3). Change the resolution to whatever number you desire. A common website resolution is 72, while a high quality printing resolution is 300 or 360. A higher resolution than 360 is usually unnecessary because the naked eye is incapable of distinguishing higher values. Click "OK" to accept changes.
- 4). Save your work.
