A cat with wing like appendages has been discovered in China.
  Scientists are studying it to determine the cause.
Cats with wing like appendages have been sighted in the past.

  This is caused by matted fur forming on the body from not grooming.
   In short hairs, it is cause by molted hair adhering to growing hair.
  The excess hair can harbor dirt and parasites.
  These conditions must be treated by a veterinarian.

   Abnormal tissue is formed along the back.
  Neuromuscular tissue may be formed causing a wing like movement.

  These limbs can be bony structures covered with fur located on the body.
The extra limbs usually serve no function.
