    Makeup After Laser Tattoo Removal

    • The skin goes through several stages while healing from laser tattoo removal. Scabbing and blisters occur on the treated skin after the procedure. Part of the healing process requires keeping the area bandaged with sterile gauze and using an ointment like Bacitracin to cover the area for protection from infection and bacteria.

While wearing a sunscreen on the treated area is recommended, makeup is not. Applying makeup to the affected area is not recommended for at least 48 hours by some laser tattoo removal businesses, such as New Look Laser Removal in Dallas. If the area is scabbing and blistering, makeup will not cover the broken skin.

Bacteria from the makeup may irritate the affected area of skin if the makeup is not washed off properly after each use. Apply makeup daily or as you wish once the affected area is healed and free of broken skin. Application of makeup is permitted during the interval between sessions and after the tattoo has been removed completely.
