How to Clean Rock Salt From a Floor
- 1). Mix approximately 1 quart water and 1 quart white vinegar in a bucket.
- 2). Dip a cleaning rag or sponge into the diluted vinegar, squeeze out excess liquid and blot carpeting. Continue as needed, dipping the rag or sponge back into the bucket every minute or so until all rock-salt residue lifts from the carpeting. Allow your carpet to air-dry.
- 3). Dip a cleaning mop into the bucket of solution, wring our excess liquid and wipe across any hard-floor surfaces soiled with the rock-salt residue. Continue as needed and let the floor air-dry.
