How to Create a Free Police Patch

    • 1). Draw your police patch idea. The patch should have the name of the city, county or state that the police department serves along with symbolism that is unique to that area. State police could have an outline of the state for instance, or famous cities like New York could have a rough image of the skyline on the patch. Overlaying that should be images of the police profession such as a badge, a squad car or the motto of the police department. Get as creative as you want with this process.

    • 2). Find a custom patch maker that can either create your patch based off of your idea, or who can modify your idea into something you are equally pleased with. Patch Supply will create custom patches for customers, and E-Patches has a number of premade police patches, along with the option of creating new ones. If you intend on buying patches from the company, then the design process will be free, but it's important to ask for any quotes or order requirements up front to know any fees that will be involved.

    • 3). Order the number of patches that you need. Since all officers need to have these patches on their uniforms and appropriate equipment, make sure that you have an adequate number of patches on hand.
