As well as being an able e mail handset, the phone also offers great instant messaging support with Windows Messenger and Ovi Chat amongst the hosts available.
The slide out Qwerty keypad makes the composition of both texts and e mails an easy affair.
Of course there are times when just a quick message will do, so the virtual keypad the the E7 is welcome.
The phones large screen means the keys are well sized and the on board predictive text system does a great job of anticipating the word you are typing.
Such an array of excellent communication facilities is well supported by a wide selection of connectivity options.
Where you have access to a WiFi network, the phone offers a pleasing and very fast online experience.
Much of the time the handset will be used whilst on the move, so the presence of 3G, EDGE and GPRS allow you to receive mail and browse the web pretty much anywhere.
These excellent options also allow the phone to display updates from social networking sites directly to the homescreen, further broadening the appeal of this excellent phone.
The Nokia E7 runs on the much improved Symbian v3.
Symbian has always proved a reliable if unspectacular operating system.
This new version offers an excellent new homescreen interface which benefits from great customisable options and a well presented layout.
Multitasking facilities have improved so as not to prove such a drain on battery life.
The battery itself is a large capacity 1200mAh lithium-ion affair.
This gives the user an excellent 430 hours in standby or 9 hours talktime, figures which will impress business users who are not always able to charge their handset.
Operation wise, the handset performs at a very quick speed, with minimal lag between the loading of applications and web pages thanks to the 1Ghz processor that keeps everything running smoothly.
16GB of internal memory will ensure that even the most demanding of media users will find ample storage on this model, and if not, a microSD card can be easily added in sizes up to 32GB.
The Nokia E7 is destined to prove another very successful addition to the manufacturers range of handsets.
Business users will flock to this handset, but it will also appeal to a younger crowd thanks to great messaging and excellent social networking integration.
