How to Block Text Messaging on a Samsung Sch U340
- 1). Block texts via your Samsung SCH-U340 phone settings. From your main menu, go to "Messaging," then "Settings." Select "Text Message," then "Block/Unblock." Here, you can set block settings for certain phone numbers, as well as view a list of blocked numbers.
- 2). Set Parental Controls. Sign up for a My Verizon online account, and add the Parental Controls feature, which cost $4.99 per month per line in 2010. From your main account page, choose "Safe Guards," "Parental Controls," and "Manage Now." You can block text messages and calls during certain times of the day or from any numbers not designated as trusted numbers. You also can limit the number of messages allowed on your Samsung SCH-U340.
- 3). Block messages from Internet domains and emails. From your My Verizon online account, go to "My Services," then "Verizon Safe Guards." Choose "Spam Controls," then "Internet Spam Blocking." Enter an Internet domain or email address, then select "Save."
- 4). Block messages to your Samsung from another cell phone. In your My Verizon account, access Internet Spam Blocking using the same method as in Step 3, then enter a cell phone number and save when finished.
- 5). Disable all texting services on your Samsung SCH-U340. Call Verizon Wireless customer service by dialing *611 from your cell phone or calling 800-922-0204 from another phone. If you are the primary account holder, you can choose to block all short messaging services (SMS) on one or more cell phone lines.
