If you had a choice, would you like to have Tiger Woods golf swing but only score in the 100's or would you rather have Charles Barkley's swing and score in the 70's? If you chose the Barkley swing, then the golf swing is something you don't care about.
For you, it is all about getting a better score? Me Too! Now that we got that out in the open we can start talking about what is really on your mind.
You want to be able to compete against your fellow golfers with lower scores.
Here are five secrets to get that better score.
Secret #1 - Simplify your golf swing.
You can simplify your golf swing with a basic quarter/half swing.
Don't try a full swing with your clubs going over your head, as it is too hard to control.
Take it back until it is waist high and stop.
Look and see if the club face is perpendicular to the ground.
If it is then practice taking the club to about head height and then try to follow through with your swing.
Nice and easy at first until you think you can't stand it any more and then try a nice hard swing keeping the club head below your head.
Secret #2 - Slow and Controlled back Swing.
Have you ever seen a pro golfer with a fast back swing.
They know that you cannot control your swing when it is too fast.
So make it slow and in control.
Remember, no one hits a ball on the backswing.
Secret #3 - Keep Your Body Still You cannot move your body all around and expect to return to your ball at address with any consistency.
So keep it still.
Another reason for the slow back swing is to keep your body still.
Secret #4 - Better than Average Pitching and Chipping Practice pitching in your back yard.
You can hit 20 yard shots in most back yards or when you go to the driving range just use your seven through wedge irons.
Leave your other clubs in the car.
Secret #5 - Excellent Alignment and Putting Whenever you hit a ball always check the alignment, not once but twice or more.
It is the easiest thing to do and the most often forgotten.
From drivers to putters, check your alignment.
For putting, practice putting without a club.
Take your hands and put them together, palm to palm.
Swing them back and forth about three inches back and six inches forward.
Rock your shoulders with your arms and keep your arms straight.
Move back slow and forward slow.
Just to get the feel until you can't stand it no more.
Then try it with a putter using the same motion.
Then eventually with a ball on the living room carpet.
You can have that better round of golf with better golf scores and who cares about the perfect golf swing.
You know what you need to do so just do it.
