How to Make Wheat Paste for Decoupage

1). Add 1 cup of hot water to an old pan. Set the stove-top temperature to high heat.
2). Combine 3 tbsp. of wheat flour with cold water. Add enough cold water to make a thin paste, but do not make the paste entirely too thin or it will not be adhesive. Mix until the flour dissolves in the water and there are no lumps.
3). Pour the wheat flour mixture slowly into the hot water. Bring the hot water wheat mixture to a boil until it thickens. Continue to stir the mixture to prevent it from sticking or burning.
4). Allow the wheat paste to thicken before applying it to create decoupage. The paste will resemble the texture of glue.
5). Use an old paintbrush to add the wheat paste to the decoupage. Apply the wheat paste to the bottom of the decoupage pictures, being careful not to apply too much.
6). Store the wheat paste in an airtight container. Keep the container in a cool and dry environment.
