- The Ultimate Contest allows you to travel in the Hidden Leaf Village, accomplishing missions and unlocking characters for Versus Play. You'll be able to speak to the citizens of the village and undertake missions of various ranks, from simple retrieval or capturing animals to A-ranked combat missions. Jutsu has many levels, and you are given the opportunity to equip various ultimate jutsus to customize your character. You'll also be able to engage in some social activities, such as dating, which will unlock female ninjas as playable characters.
- Hero's History mode allows you to experience the first four storylines of the anime series as an active combatant. The first story of the arc is Genin Training, where Naruto and Sasuke graduate from the academy and many of the most popular ninjas from the series are introduced. The second is the Leaf Destruction arc, where you'll face Orochimaru and his Akatsuki fellows with the help of your new trainer, Jiraiya. Tsunade Search is the next story, where you will discover the true powers of Jiraiya and Lady Tsunade, who with Orochimaru, make up the legendary sennin. Their ability to summon massive guardians adds a new element to the game. The final part of the arc is Sasuke Retrieval, telling the story of his curse mark to complete the series.
- The final mode is the Break Room, where you'll be able to play in mini-games such as Tree Climbing and Nice Guy's Training to further unlock features of the game. These unlockables will include items that can be purchased from the Tanzuku Market and kept for display in Naruto's House. In the house, you can also enter promotional codes or passwords for bonus items. Some of these can be found on the official homepage of the game. You will want to keep an eye out for these passwords because they can grant you special in-game abilities, additional currency or other powers that cannot be unlocked in other ways.
