- 1). Wash and rinse the pipette according to your laboratory protocol -- the solutions and procedures for washing vary depending on what you use the pipette for.
- 2). Place the pipette on a drying rack or paper towels and allow it to dry completely.
- 3). Lay the pipette gently in the compartment containing other pipettes of the same size if your lab uses drawer storage.
Slide the pipette tip first into a hole in the pipette storage rack if your lab uses vertical storage.
