How to Slice a Golf Ball on Purpose
- 1). Set your club face behind the ball and aim it at the target. Aim your feet to the left of the target. Your feet should be set up in an open stance with your left foot further from the ball than your right foot if you are a right-handed golfer. Ideally, the left foot should be about 4 inches farther back than the right foot. Your feet will now be aimed up well left of the intended target.
- 2). Swing the club backwards into your back swing on the outside of the ball and along the same line that your feet are on. The take away should be smooth and you should keep the wrists as still as possible so the club head does not move. The club head should remain on the same line and be facing the target upon impact.
- 3). Swing down at the ball along the same path as your back swing. The club face should remain pointed at the target but cut across the ball as the downswing is occurring along the line of your feet. This action will put left to right spin on the ball and cause it to move from the left to right, for right-handed golfers, while the ball is in the air.
