How to Tell If Oakley Sunglasses Are Real

    • 1). Verify that the Oakleys come with a hard case or pouch, along with papers of authenticity. If the Oakleys lack either of these, there's a good chance they're fakes.

    • 2). Look inside the frame to find the marking "Made in U.S.A." All Oakley glasses are made in America, so if you find another country written, such as Taiwan or China, then you have fake Oakleys.

    • 3). Compare the color of the Oakleys to real Oakleys from the official website. Often, knockoff Oakleys are made in colors that official Oakleys are not.

    • 4). Use a soft eraser to try to rub off the Oakley logo on the bridge of the nose. On real Oakleys, the logo should not rub off.

    • 5). Compare the weight of the glasses to that of a real pair of Oakleys. Fake Oakleys are typically made of cheap plastic, which should feel lighter in the hand. In general, real Oakleys will feel sturdier and more durable.

    • 6). Look at the "O" logo on the stem of the frames. It should be slightly raised, so if the pair you're examining doesn't have a raised edge, it's definitely a fake.

    • 7). Examine the glasses to check for any stickers. Real Oakley glasses never have stickers on either the outside or inside of the frame.
