How to Reinstall Windows XP with a Reinstallation Disc

1). Start your computer and log in with an administrative user name and password.
2). Insert the Windows XP installation CD into the computer's disc drive. After the computer reads the CD, the "Welcome to Windows" box should appear.
3). Click on the "Install Windows XP" button.
4). Choose "Upgrade (Recommended)" as the installation type, then hit "Next."
5). Accept the license agreement and press "Next" again.
6). Type in the 25-character product key that appears on the Windows XP box.
7). Press the "Next" button twice. Since Windows XP is already installed on the computer, the wizard cannot upgrade the operating system and will reinstall it instead.
