- 1). Close any programs running on your computer.
- 2). Click the Windows orb and click the "Computer" option.
- 3). Type "svchost.exe" into the search field to locate any instances of the file on your computer.
- 4). Click any svchost.exe files not located in the Windows\System32 folder and press "Delete." Close the Computer window and right-click the "Recycle Bin." Click "Empty" to remove the file from your computer.
