    • 1). Click "Start." Select "Control Panel" from the pop-up menu. Click the "Hardware" tab on the window that appears. Click "Mouse" below the "Hardware" tab.

    • 2). Click the "Buttons" tab at the top of the new window that appears. Check the "Switch primary and secondary buttons" check box in the window. Move the "Double-click speed" slider in the window all the way to to the left. Clear the "Turn on ClickLock" check box. Click the "Apply" button. Click the "OK" button to return to the Control Panel.

    • 3). Click "Mouse" again to go to a new window. Click the "Pointer Options" tab at the top of the window. Check the "Enhance pointer precision" check box in the window. Move the "Select a pointer speed" slider on the window all the way to the right.

    • 4). Clear the "Display pointer trails" check box on the window. Clear the "Hide pointer while typing" check box.

    • 5). Clear the "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key" check box. Click the "Apply" button. Click the "OK" button to return to the Control Panel.

    • 6). Click "Mouse" again to go to a new window. Click the "Wheel" tab at the top of the window. Clear the following: "The following number of lines at a time," "One screen at a time" and "Tilt the wheel to scroll the following number of characters at a time." Click the "Apply" button. Click the "OK" button to return to the Control Panel. Close the Control Panel window by clicking the red "X" in the upper-right corner.
