Thanks to a variety of cutting edge frames and high profile spectacle wearers, Dorothy Parker's adage, "Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses," is no longer true. In 2009, the Guardian reported that "glasses are back - and the key look is nerdy but sexy." The Guardian also explains that "the most interesting style heroes have always been those behind glass." Harnessing the mystique of framed celebs such as Andy Warhol, Kanye West and Julia Roberts requires the right haircut. Finding the right note between face shape, frame and hairstyle doesn't have to be hard. The following list outlines some of the main points bespectacled women should keep in mind when styling their hair to suit their frames.

    Wide-Framed Eyeglasses

    • Lynn Chapman of BellaOnline explains that wider frames add interest to oval-shaped faces. The HairStyler says that women who have wide frames should avoid "hairstyles with a lot of volume on the sides." Instead, they should try "hairstyles with height on top," "chunky, textured bangs," "long length ends with no volume" and "short hairstyles with strong vertical lines."

    Large-Framed Eyeglasses

    • Chapman says that these frames work well for women with oblong faces. The HairStyler advises women with large-framed eyeglasses to avoid "long hairstyles that have low volume," "straight hairstyles," and "short, impish hairstyles." On the other hand, large-framed ladies should try "long layered styles with extra volume on the sides."

    Small-Framed Eyeglasses

    • Chapman believes that narrow frames work well with square and heart shaped faces. The HairStyler says that women who opt for small frames should try "short cropped wavy styles that highlight the face or long blunt cuts." Hairfinder says that "longer, blunt haircuts with or without volume (depending on the face's width) can be wonderful" on women with small frames.
