- 1). Measure around the circumference of your calf where you will wear the boot cuff; call this measurement A. Measure the length you want for the boot cuff, taking into account how deep you want it to fit inside your boots and how far you want it to overlap and fold over the side of the boots. Call this measurement B.
- 2). Make a length of chain stitches using worsted weight yarn and a size U.S. I crochet hook. The chain stitch length should match measurement A; add one more chain at the end.
- 3). Make a single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across the row.
- 4). Make one chain and turn your work; make a single crochet in the back loops only of every stitch across the row. Repeat this until the height of your cuff matches measurement B.
- 5). Make one chain and turn your work. Make a single crochet in each of the first two stitches, then make two chains and skip the next two stitches. Repeat this across the row, ending by making a single crochet in each of the last two stitches.
- 6). Make one chain and turn your work. Single crochet in every single crochet across the row, making two single crochets in each space from the chain stitches across as well. Cut the working yarn, leaving a 4-inch tail. Yarn over with this tail and pull it all the way through the final stitch to secure it.
- 7). Thread your yarn tails onto an embroidery needle one at a time. Weave the tails in and out of the stitches on the cuff to hide them. Use a hand sewing needle to sew buttons onto the starting edge of the cuff to line up with the buttonholes you made in Step Five. Repeat steps 1 through 7 to make a second cuff.
- 8). Button the cuff around your calf with the buttons facing in. Pull on your boots, overlapping the cuff. Fold the cuff over on top of the edge of your boots.
