- 1). Have a professional bra fitting to determine your correct bra size. Up to 85% of women wear the wrong bra size, making the bra uncomfortable and ill fitting. Many department stores and lingerie stores offer free bra fittings to customers. Take advantage of this offer and find out your correct bra size.
- 2). Purchase a padded bra that is your correct size. Padded bras are available both with and without an underwire, so purchase the type that is the most comfortable for you.
- 3). Consider buying a bra with removable padding. These bras are functional and cost-effective for those who would like to get double duty out of their purchase. These bras usually come in smaller sizes and don't increase your breast size by more than one cup.
- 4). Put on your padded bra by clasping it in the front and then rotating the clasp to the back. The bottom of the bra should fit just below your breasts and no breast area should be showing underneath the bra. If your pads are removable, check to make sure that they are in the correct place and that both pads are even. Your breasts should sit on top of the padded area.
