- 1). Open the Messaging application on your Android device.
- 2). Touch the thread containing the text messages you want to back up.
- 3). Tap and hold on the individual message.
- 4). Tap "Copy to SIM" if you're using a GSM Android phone.
- 5). Touch "Forward" and type your email address in the "To:" field if you have a CDMA phone. You can use the Gmail account associated with the phone, or another email account.
- 6). Tap "Send" to forward the message to your email.
