How to Package Eggs
- 1). Use flat egg flats that will fit into your shipping box. You can either remove the top portion of regular egg cartons or find flats that hold anywhere from 18 to 24 eggs. Talk to your family and friends to see if anyone buys eggs in flats and ask them to save the flats for you.
- 2). Lay a layer of bubble wrap on the bottom of the box. Fill the egg flats with eggs. Point the smaller end of the egg up in the flat. Lay the first layer of egg flats into the box.
- 3). Cover the layer with abundant amounts of shredded paper. Make sure that the shredded paper fills all of the spaces between the eggs.
- 4). Lay a sheet of bubble wrap over the shredded paper, covering the entire layer.
- 5). Repeat the steps until all eggs are packed. Top with a double layer of bubble wrap and seal the box securely with packing tape.
