Recently I read an article in the newspaper about a robber who was upset when the bank would not cash his million dollar bill for smaller denominations that he could spend. Of course, he was not too bright when it comes to money because the United States Treasury has never issued a million dollar bill.

Many of us have seen money from a dollar bill to a hundred dollar bill, but after that we may be lost. Here is a little information about our money and its design.

A $1.00 bill has a portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States of America, on the front and on the back you will see the Great Seal of the United States.

A $2.00 bill has a portrait of Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence and the third President of the United States of America, on the front and a picture of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back.

A $5.00 bill has a portrait of Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States of America during the Civil War, on the front and a picture of the Lincoln Memorial on the back.

A $10.00 bill has portrait of Alexander Hamilton, the first United States Secretary of the Treasury, on the front and the picture of the United States Treasury Building on the
back.

A $20.00 bill has a portrait of Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States of America, on the front and a picture of the White House on the back.

A $50.00 bill has a portrait of Ulysses S. Grant, the eighteenth President of the United States of America, on the front and a picture of the United States Capitol on the back.

A $100.00 bill has a portrait of Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America, on the front and a picture of Independence Hall on the back.

A $500.00 bill has a picture of William McKinley, twenty fifth President of the United States of America, on the front and a large $500 sign on the back.

A $1,000 bill has a picture of Grover Cleveland, twenty second President of the United States of America, on the front and a large $1,000 sign on the back.

A $5,000 bill has a portrait of James Madison, fourth President of the United States of America also known as the Father of the Constitution, on the front and a large $5,000 sign on the back.

A $10,000 bill has a portrait of Salmon P. Chase, twenty fifth United States Secretary of the Treasury, and the sixth Chief Justice of the United States, on the front and a large $10,000 sign on the back.

A $100,000 bill has a portrait of Woodrow Wilson, twenty eighth President of the United States of America, on the front and a large $100,000 sign on the back.
