    • 2). Divide the numerator by the denominator. In this case, you would divide 28 by 14 to get the whole number 2.

    • 3). Add an existing remainder as a fraction to the right of the whole number. For example, if you had 29/14, you would divide 29 by 14 to get 2 with a remainder of 1. The new figure would look like this: 2 1/14.
