How to Draw a Stock Car

    • 1). Draw a rectangle in the center of your paper. Size it according to how large or small you want your final art to be, as this shape will serve as the guideline to make the stock car's body. Draw a sideways oval in the center of the rectangle, but draw the oval large enough so that it crests up and sticks out of the top of the rectangle. Draw a triangle on the left end of the rectangle. You've now created the body, hood and top of the car.

    • 2). Erase the overlapping line between the oval and the rectangle and the dividing line between the triangle and the rectangle. Erase the oval, leaving only the oval's top above the top of the rectangle. You now should have one solid shape. Erase the sharp angles on the triangle and redraw the lines to have a smooth upward sloping contour to create the aerodynamic hood.

    • 3). Erase small sections on the front and rear bottom line of the car's body and redraw with small arches to make the front and rear wheel wells. Draw circles to represent the tires inside the wheel wells. Erase the top line of the rectangle to the right of the oval and redraw a downward sloping line to make the contoured rear of the car. Draw a square in the center of the body to make the door, then begin to add the details, such as the front and rear bumpers and center axels in the middle of the wheels.

    • 4). Add the smaller details to make the car your own: draw the number of your choice in block-style letters on the center of the door, add the type of windows/windshield you prefer, and don't forget to increase the realism by drawing the safety net and roll bars in the driver's side window. Draw any other decals or sponsorship logos to the body of the car.
