When trying to train for a 6 pack, it can get really confusing with all of the exercises that are available.

First, you need to realize that you are going to have to mix things up when it comes to putting together a solid workout routine.
You will have to incorporate traditional floor exercises like crunches and sit-ups, and also start to bring in weights and stability exercises.
You will need to get exercises that include all 6 muscles with every exercise.
A lot of people have problems developing the lower abs, but if you have the correct exercises, along with the right routine, you should be working your entire core with every exercise.
Now, one exercise that you will want to avoid is the weighted side bends.
It is not harmful or anything, and it will make you gain muscle mass.
The bad thing is that it will make your waist look wider taking away from the overall lean and ripped look that you are going after.
There are tons of guides that have this as part of the routine, but if you want a lean ripped look, stay away.
