    • 1). Set the engine on a hard, flat surface. Locate the carburetor on the right side of the engine, under the air filter. Remove the air filter cover and slide out the air filter, then slide off the air filter shroud.

    • 2). Loosen the two bolts that hold the carburetor against the engine block. Slide off the choke and throttle linkage by hand, being careful to note the linkage position for reinstallation.

    • 3). Remove the two bolts that were loosened in step 2, and slide off the carburetor. Flip the carburetor over. There is a bolt holding the carburetor bowl against the carburetor body; remove that bolt with the 1/2-inch wrench and slide it off the bowl. This will expose the carburetor float. Pull on the pin holding the float in place with the needle nose pliers and slide out the float. The inlet needle is connected to the float. Slide out the inlet needle by hand and slide the new inlet needle into position.

    • 4). Gently slide the carburetor float back into position and press the holding pin back in with the needle nose pliers. Reinstall the carburetor bowl and tighten down the bolt. Place the carburetor against the engine block and screw in the two bolts by hand. Reattach the linkage, then tighten the two bolts with the 3/8-inch wrench. Reinstall the air filter shroud, air filter and air filter cover.
