How to Dust the Inside of TVs

    • 1). Turn off and unplug your television. Let the television cool before you dust the inside the machine.

    • 2). Clear excess surface dust from the exterior of the television, including any vents and speakers, with a soft dry cloth; dusting cloths work well for this, as does a gentle vacuum cleaner.

    • 3). Hold your compressed air upright and press the button away from your computer to clear any fluid that may have built up. If your can comes with an extension tube for focusing the air flow, attach it before dusting. This can help focus air into small holes and vents. Do not hold the care of air upside down, and do not shake it before blowing.

    • 4). Hold the air can back a couple of inches from your television -- depending on the brand you use, this can vary from 2 and 4 inches. Press the button to blow air into the television via the vents and grills to clear out the dust. Do this in short bursts to avoid the can cooling. If the can begins to get too cold, set it aside and let it rest before dusting again.
