How to Season a Sunbeam Waffle Iron
- 1). Pour about 2 tbsp. of oil into a wad of paper towels and rub the oil into the crevices and grooves of the waffle iron on both the upper and lower sides, or spray the inside surfaces liberally with oil.
- 2). Plug in the waffle iron and preheat it on the medium setting, then close the two halves together by lowering the lid.
- 3). Bake the waffle maker with the lid closed for 15 minutes, then unplug and allow it to cool down completely.
- 4). Oil the waffle surfaces a second time, then plug in the waffle maker and dial the temperature control to the highest setting.
- 5). Close the waffle maker and allow it to bake an additional 15 minutes, then unplug and allow it to cool.
