Illinois Income Tax Act
- Section 221 of the Illinois Income Tax Act endows firefighters with a $1,000 tax credit per year. To be eligible, the taxpayer must have completed a firefighter basic training course. It is also important to present some form of authorization or certification that the Office of the Fire Marshal has approved this.
