How to Crochet Bootie Slippers
- 1). Crochet a foundation chain of 24 chain stitches, using the larger crochet hook and two strands of yarn together. Join the first and last chain stitches together to form a ring. Work one chain stitch, then one single crochet in each chain stitch around the ring. Join with a slip stitch into the beginning stitch.
- 2). Crochet one chain stitch to begin round two. Work one single crochet in each single crochet of the previous round. Join with a slip stitch to the beginning stitch. Turn the work.
- 3). Repeat round two for rounds three through 22.
- 1). Crochet one chain stitch, then one single crochet each into the next 12 single crochet stitches. Turn the work. Repeat this row for rows two and three.
- 2). Slip stitch into the next single crochet and work one chain stitch for row four. Single crochet into the same single crochet as the chain-1. Single crochet into each single crochet across to the last single crochet. Leave the last single crochet unworked. Turn the work.
- 3). Repeat row four for row six. At the end of this row, fasten off and cut the yarn with the scissors.
- 1). Insert stitch markers into both corners of the heel next to the tube top. This is the upper leg portion of the sock. Move the stitch markers as you progress in crocheting each round.
- 2). Attach the yarn at one corner and crochet one chain stitch. You are working in the side edge of the heel rows. Crochet six single crochet and work one single crochet into each of the next six single crochets of row six of the heel. Crochet six single crochet across the opposite side edge of the heel rows. Work one single crochet into each of the remaining 12 single crochet of row two. Join with a slip stitch to the beginning single crochet and turn the work.
- 3). Work one chain stitch and single crochet around. Work a single crochet decrease at each stitch marker and join to the beginning single crochet. Turn the work.
- 4). Crochet one chain stitch, then one single crochet into each single crochet around for rounds five through 15. Join with a slip stitch to the beginning single crochet and turn the work.
- 1). Position the stitch markers evenly spaced between 12 stitches – this should be 12 stitches each at the top and bottom of the bootie – as you make sure the heel is correctly centered at the bottom. Work one chain stitch, beginning round one. Single crochet into each stitch to the next stitch marker and complete a single crochet decrease into the next two stitches. Repeat from “single crochet into each stitch” to the end of round one. Join into the beginning single crochet and turn the work.

Repeat from “Single crochet into each single crochet . . .” to the end of round two. Work a single crochet decrease into the next two single crochet. Join into the beginning single crochet.
- 3). Repeat round two for rounds three through seven.
- 4). Turn the bootie wrong side out. Slip stitch the top and bottom of the toe shaping stitches closed. Fasten off and cut the yarn. Turn the bootie right side out.
- 1). Turn down rounds one through nine of the bootie, forming a cuff. Switch to the G/6 crochet hook and attach one strand of the yarn to the first round of the bootie. Work one chain stitch and one single crochet into the same chain as the beginning chain-1. Crochet five chain stitches. Single crochet into the next chain stitch and chain five. Repeat from “Single crochet into the next chain stitch . . .” to the end of the round. Join with a slip stitch into the beginning single crochet. Fasten off and cut the yarn.
- 2). Working with the G/6 hook, attach one strand of yarn around the vertical post of the single crochet stitch in round one. Work one chain stitch and single crochet around the post of the same single crochet. Crochet five chain stitches. Single crochet around the vertical post of the next single crochet and work five chain stitches. Repeat from “Single crochet around the vertical post of the next single crochet . . .” to the end of the round. Join with a slip stitch to the beginning single crochet. Fasten off and cut the yarn.
