With the popularity of social networking and internet use at a global all-time high, empowr.com is looking to offer people a social network that stands apart from the rest. Empowr aims to be more than just a social network; in fact, it is looking to change the world, from corporations to individuals, by establishing the world's first democratic social economy. With that in mind, why join Empowr?

Let's have a look at why this concept is beneficial to everyone involved:

Customers/Users

As mentioned above, the value of a social network is created by its users. Without them, there is no social network and this is why Empowr has adopted a totally different approach. As the name suggests, it is looking to give more power and say back to the users by empowering them.

Traditionally, a corporation is run by an individual executive who is elected by the board of directors and the shareholders. The problem with this is that the top executive normally has to make decisions that please the shareholders, as they are the people who inevitably own the company and the one thing that they want to see is profits.

But what if the corporation's customers were involved in the electing of a new president? Wouldn't that make them feel more empowered and therefore engaged with the company as a whole? The answer is yes and as a result, the customers feel part of the corporation and are more likely to buy-in to its products, services and overall mission. Moreover, if they were in-turn financially rewarded for their part of the corporation's success, this would make them more loyal and see them become brand advocates.

Employees

Like its customers, a corporation's employees are an equally integral group of individuals. It's the employees who ultimately keep the corporation running, implement new ideas and ultimately contribute to the corporation's overall success. Therefore, shouldn't they too have a say in how the company is run and who is elected as its president? Again, the answer is yes and it's the corporation itself that ultimately benefits in the long run.

Empowered employees are generally happier, motivated and therefore more hard-working for the overall success of the business. This is why it is crucial to empower employees, which will see them champion the corporation that they work for.

Shareholders

Let's not forget the shareholders in all of this though. After all, they are still the individuals who own the company and, at the end of the day, want to see it profitable. Well, as many companies have figured out, the path to success and large profits requires engaged customers and engaged employees. Therefore, the concept of giving more influence to these two groups of individuals will inevitably lead to greater profits. Doesn't that mean therefore, that all individuals who have an interest in the corporation (stakeholders) are contented and so the situation is win-win for everyone involved? That is the overall goal of Empowr and if it can be achieved, the possibilities could be endless.
