Moisten a sponge with rubbing alcohol. Squeeze out excess moisture. Dab at the gravy stain to remove oil and color.
- 4). Pour 2 cups of warm water into a bucket. Add 1 tablespoon of dishwashing detergent, followed by 1 tablespoon of white vinegar.
- 5). Treat any remaining gravy stain with the vinegar and detergent solution. Dampen a clean cloth with the mixture and sponge the carpet to remove the gravy stain. As the stain is lifted, rinse the cloth with water. Add more detergent solution and continue to sponge the stain.
