How to Dress the Unbalanced Windows in a Room

    • 1). Dress the windows in matching coverings to create a uniform look. Even when windows are unbalanced, if the coverings match, it'll balance the overall look.

    • 2). Install each window's curtain rod at the same height, even if some windows are set higher along the wall than others. Make sure the rods are all set high enough to match the tallest window. Add curtains of the same length to each rod. This will give the appearance that all of the windows are of similar size and placement, especially when the curtains are closed.

    • 3). Put up a long rod over two or three unbalanced windows that are located next to each other. Place curtains in between the windows to create a more balanced look.

    • 4). Hang the curtain rod above the window so it centers the wall space and not the window itself. This trick is useful when a window isn't centered in the wall properly. Avoid using see-through curtains in order to keep the wall hidden.
