How to Fix My Xbox 360 - What to Do When Your Console Stops Working

Most of the Xbox 360 users are having problems, especially when the green light turns to red.
Before anything else, what does this red light mean? The red lights mean error or warning.
So when the green light on your Xbox 360 turns to red that means trouble.
There are several errors or warnings that are represented by the red lights and there are immediate solutions for it that will not cost that much or does not cost anything at all.
If your Xbox 360 has a warranty from Microsoft that a good news for you and it won't cost you anything.
But if it doesn't have any warranty you should probably learn more about the solutions for your Xbox problems.
Most of the errors that would occur in your Xbox could be technical and it is not required that you do it yourself because it may cause more damage to your console.
If you have some experience you could probably open your console and find the problem.
Before you do that you need to know what these errors are.
#1 Three lights usually means the GPU is overheating and will fail quickly if it is not fixed.
#2 E74 error which appears on your screen is usually the same problem as with the two red lights.
#3 Two red lights error.
This is a general overheating of the console.
If you are experiencing ant of these errors the first thing you want to do to troubleshoot this is to cool your console down completely.
Leave it off for an hour then switch it back on and see if it fails again.
If it does check the following.
Make sure the console is well ventilated and there is nothing blocking any of the ventilation holes.
Make sure there is a gap around the console and it is not in an enclosed space where air cannot circulate.
Once you have done this check the console again.
if you are lucky it may work for good.
If it fails again check the following.
All the peripherals are securely connected and there are no damaged cables.
These can produce similar errors as to what you would expect with overheating.
If the console still does not work then it is likely that it has a fault that will require you to open the xbox and repair it.
Fixing this error is surprisingly easy, if you know what you are doing and will take under an hour.
All you need to do is to replace the x-clamps and to ensure there are no bad soldered connections on the motherboard.
