How to Install Xubuntu to an SDHC Card

    • 1). Click "Applications," then "Accessories" and open Terminal. Type "sudo apt-get install unetbootin" and press the "Enter" key to download and install an application that can download and install dozens of versions of Linux onto a variety media.

    • 2). Insert your SDHC card into its slot and type "unetbooin" into Terminal to launch UNetbootin. Click the menu to the right of "Distribution," scroll down to "Xubuntu" and select the release you want to install.

    • 3). Click the menu to the right of "Type" and choose your SDHC card from the list of media. Click "OK" to begin the download and installation process. Note that the download process can take over an hour depending on your Internet connection speed. Once downloaded, UNetbootin installs Xubuntu onto your card and you can run it from there on system startup.
